In late 2022, having spent my entire post-university career in software, my immune system attacked the protein sheath around the neurons in my brain and spinal cord (a condition called "acute disseminated encephalomyelitis").
I've spent the time since essentially relearning how to operate my brain. Working on a substantial software project is the next phase of the recovery journey, but considering it took at least 18 years to learn how to operate the first time (if I—any one else—can truly be said to know how to operate their own brain), it's going to take more time to build than one would expect.
A common piece of business advice is “under-promise and over-deliver.”
Phase 1 of that plan is handled.
Phase 2 will require a far higher and steeper ascent, and will consume significantly more time.
